About the Role:
TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in South Gloucestershire that is seeking an enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their team in September. This full-time role involves teaching DT across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering a broad range of DT subjects. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to become permanent.

You will play a key role in delivering engaging, hands-on lessons that develop students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge across multiple DT disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and textiles


  • Inspire and challenge students to think creatively and develop their practical skills


  • Prepare students for practical assessments and GCSE exams


  • Maintain a safe, well-equipped, and organised workshop and classroom environment


  • Work collaboratively with the Technology department and contribute to the wider school community


    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification


    • Have experience teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4


    • Be passionate about DT and inspiring young learners across multiple specialisms


    • Have strong classroom management and excellent communication skills


    • Be committed to supporting the school’s high standards and inclusive ethos
