Vacancy - TIG Pipe Welder

We are looking to recruit a permanent TIG Pipe Welder for our client. You will produce company products to the required standard and quality as defined by drawings, written instructions and direction from the supervisor.

You will carry out specialist welding i.e. TIG of stainless steel and/or Aluminium structures, pipework and components.

• Carry out specialist welding, including TIG welding of stainless steel and/or aluminium structures, pipework, and components.
• Perform finishing weld runs on fabricated assemblies.
• Purged back pipe welding on schedule 10 stainless steel pipe, producing a root and cap weld in a single run, in line with Work Instructions 46 and 55, up to ASME IX standard.
• Fabricate box and tubular structures in line with BS9606 – 1 & 2.
• General MIG applications on mild steel structures.
• General fabrication and fettling work.
• Identify work through the use of a unique stamp ID.
• Complete scheduled test pieces for third-party examination to ensure welding meets standard requirements and maintain welder approvals via employer and external validation.
• Observe the company's Health & Safety policy and procedures, ensuring personal and others' safety by complying with safety rules.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required
• Must have minimum 6 years TIG welding experience
• Ability to read, understand, and produce work to general engineering drawings.
• Experience in the use of general engineering equipment.
• Ability to perform and honestly monitor/inspect throughput, referring work for concession/remedial action to supervision if required.
• Experience with argon back purging on stainless pipework welding to ASME IX standard.
• Ability to weld with and without jig and fixture arrangements.
