Hygiene Operative

Location: Bason Bridge, Somerset
Salary: £12.21
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (flexibility available for earlier starts/later finishes)

An excellent opportunity has become available for a Hygiene Operative to join a growing team at a state-of-the-art food production facility in Bason Bridge. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across all areas, particularly machinery and equipment used in the production process.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are met consistently in a clean and modern working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep cleaning of production machinery and equipment


  • Cleaning and sanitising production areas, including floors, walls, and surfaces


  • Ensuring hygiene standards are maintained in line with food safety regulations


  • Completing cleaning schedules and records accurately


  • Reporting any maintenance or hygiene-related issues to supervisors


  • Working effectively with the wider production and quality teams


    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Previous experience in a hygiene/cleaning role, ideally within a food production environment


    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards


    • Comfortable with deep cleaning of machinery and equipment


    • Flexible with working hours where needed


    • Able to work both independently and as part of a team


    • Understanding of food safety and hygiene protocols (desirable but not essential)
