Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner for our Intervention & Planning team in Child Protection (CP). This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop strategic interventions, and provide expert guidance to both clients and team members. Your experience in child protection will enable you to navigate complex cases and advocate effectively for at-risk children. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external agencies to create and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each family. Your leadership and mentorship skills will be essential as you support less experienced social workers, fostering a culture of growth and learning. We are looking for someone with a passion for making a difference, who is committed to best practices in safeguarding and enhancing the lives of children and families. In this role, you will be a key driver in achieving positive outcomes and promoting the welfare of those you serve, working diligently to promote child safety and family stability within the intervention planning framework.

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine needs and risks.
Develop and implement strategic intervention plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Provide expert consultation and guidance to junior social workers and support staff in case management and best practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection.
Facilitate and lead multi-agency meetings to coordinate services and resources for families.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and modify plans as necessary based on feedback and outcomes.
Advocate for the rights and needs of children and families in court proceedings and other community settings.
Requirements
A recognized social work qualification (Degree or Master’s in Social Work).
Current registration with the appropriate social work regulatory body.
Significant experience in child protection and intervention planning.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, and policies concerning child welfare.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
Proven leadership and mentoring ability in a social work setting.
Ability to manage a complex caseload and maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Minimum of 3 years experience.

Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £27.32
Location: Barnet, Hertfordshire
