What skills and experience we're looking for

Forge Wood Primary School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and nurturing school community.

What we are looking for

• Good General Education including English and Maths at Grade C GCSE or equivalent
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Preferably possess a strong musical background, ideally with formal qualifications in music or music education.
• Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting.
• Expertise in planning and delivering engaging music lessons to primary-aged children.
• Ability to support class teachers across a range of subjects when not teaching music.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to lead whole-class sessions independently.
• Enthusiasm for promoting music education as an integral part of the curriculum.
• Music Specialism would be desirable

The Details

Start Date: 1st Sept 2025

Salary: GLF Associate 2 - £22,834 (FTE)

Actual Salary: £18,279 (33.5hrs per week, term time only)

Hours of work: 33.5 per week, Term Time, 39 weeks per year including INSET day attendance.
