Summary

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant – Domiciliary Care
Location: Altrincham, Manchester
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Care Manager

Job Role:

As a Senior Care Assistant in domiciliary care, you will be responsible for supporting individuals in their own homes, ensuring they receive high-quality care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. You will lead by example, supporting junior care staff, carrying out spot checks and observations, and working closely with the care management team to ensure compliance with care plans and company standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

* Deliver personal care and support to clients in their own homes in line with individual care plans.
* Supervise, support, and mentor care assistants to ensure high standards of care delivery.
* Carry out care plan reviews, risk assessments, and spot checks to ensure quality and safety.
* Monitor clients’ health and well-being, reporting changes or concerns to management promptly.
* Assist in staff training, induction, and competency assessments.
* Administer or prompt medication in accordance with company policy and training.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily notes and incident reports.
* Promote and uphold clients’ rights to dignity, privacy, and independence.
* Support care coordinators with rota management and on-call duties when required.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and confidentiality at all times.

Essential Requirements:

* Minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* At least 1–2 years' experience in a care role, preferably in domiciliary/home care.
* Good communication and leadership skills.
* A caring and compassionate nature.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if travel is required).

Desirable:

* Previous supervisory or senior care role experience.
* Medication administration training.
* Knowledge of CQC standards and domiciliary care regulations.
