The role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join a Regeneration & Environment Directorate in Doncaster. You’ll handle major planning applications, contribute to planning policy, and support service delivery across development management and enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of major and complex planning applications
Provide expert planning policy advice and develop strategy documents
Lead on pre-application discussions and negotiations with developers
Support enforcement and represent the council at appeals and public inquiries
What the client is looking for:
RTPI qualified (or working towards) with strong local authority experience
Confident managing strategic-scale developments
Skilled in policy writing, application handling, and appeal preparation
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
