Summary
Class 2 Multidrop Delivery Driver

We are seeking to employ an experienced delivery driver with a valid Category C (Class 2) licence, who is also flexible and willing to provide cover picking and loading goods within the warehouse along with putting stock away and labelling containers.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a warm, positive attitude and be flexible.
Much of our clients work is done using their fleet of vans and dropside vehicles, although they do also have 14T and 26T lorries hence the Class 2 requirement.
Typically you would have a couple of loads per day, each load on average 5 or 6 drops around the Midlands region although may be slightly further afield - we deliver within a 40 mile radius of Lichfield.
This is an ideal role for an experienced driver looking for a bit more variety in their job (Van driving, lorry driving, and a bit of yard/warehouse work)
Core Duties
- Carry out deliveries of barrels of oil & chemicals to customer sites, utilising our fleet of vans and lorries as necessary
- Occasionally pumping over bulk product direct into customer tanks
- Loading delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, utilising pallets, ratchet straps and shrink wrap
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy, and report any defects to the Transport Manager
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is given to the office staff
- General warehouse duties include putting stock away and picking stock, and being responsible for overall yard tidiness
- Decanting products into other container sizes and applying labels
Additional Duties
- Ensure the warehouse is kept safe and tidy, again reporting any issues or defects to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Operating the forklift (subject to FLT licence / training) during busy periods
- Providing cover for warehouse staff e.g. putting barrels, boxes and pails away in the relevant locations within the yard & warehouse during exceptionally busy periods
- Assisting with other duties as required by your line managers
Requirements
- Full clean UK Class 2 driving licence (essential)
- Valid CPC Licence
- Previous experience making deliveries in both lorries and vans (essential)
- Previous experience operating a forklift (desirable)
- Knowledge of the Midlands region (desirable)
- Physically strong and healthy, as there is an element of manual handling
Remuneration
- Up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 07:45 - 16:30 although earlier start & finish times may often be required
- Statutory Pension Scheme, enrolment after 3 months
- 45 minute unpaid lunch break
- 20 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays and your birthday off
