WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Leeds office.

About this opportunity

An opportunity has risen for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Network Security and Traffic Management Lab within the Core Infrastructure Platform at Lloyds Banking Group. The focus of this role is to assist and develop automation to deliver technical solutions with the delivery of work.

What you'll do

  • Accountability for design, implementation, security, maintenance and support of software-defined infrastructure resources.

  • Identifies areas for improvement, suggests and implements changes to business practices, and manages projects with mentorship from senior team members.

  • Provide recommendations for the development of IT Security policies, develop underlying procedures and monitor their implementation for area of responsibility within the organization.

  • Identify and evaluates complex expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.

  • Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established strategic planning systems.

What you'll need

  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting software-defined infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages to enhance infrastructure efficiency.

  • Ability to identify and evaluate technical solutions to meet business needs.

  • Knowledge of IT Security policies and procedures, with experience monitoring their implementation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest and implement improvements to existing practices.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with senior colleagues and provide clear input into policy development.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of F5 BIG-IP architecture and modules (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM).

  • Expertise in Python (particularly for automation and integration).

  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and pipeline orchestration and associated technologies
