Summary

Job title: Personal assistant

Introduction:
A committed, and flexible Personal Assistant is required to provide support young lady (13) who has a mild learning disability. both at home, and in the community, to let her develop interests independent of her family. The service user is quite shy and needs support to build confidence when making decisions.
She has a great sense of humour and is looking for a PA with that same personality.
She enjoys swimming, dancing and yoga. loves animals, cats and dogs are her favourite.
She enjoys socialising but needs to build confidence In social situations and recognise potential dangers, she may also need support with shopping and making independent purchases based on her choice.
The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this person with the right personal assistant to manage her support independently. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.
Main Duties:
• Ensure the safety of the service user when on duty
• Encourage her and take part in activities with her peers
• Provide support and guidance to develop independent life skills
• Support her to attend social activities.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests the employer may make from time to time

• A good sense of humour
• Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.

• Reliable with good time keeping.
• Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy
• An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
