Hours: Part time, 10 – 20 hours per two-week timetable cycle
The role
St Edward’s Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging EAL Teacher to support the learning and development of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs.
As a Teacher of EAL, you will work closely with international pupils for whom English is not a first language, helping them to thrive academically and socially. This will involve providing learning support through small group and one-to-one sessions, and planning and delivering effective lessons and learning strategies to enhance their language skills.
You will need an English as an Additional Language teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA) and will have experience of teaching English as an Additional Language. You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to relate sensitively and professionally to pupils, parents and colleagues. Excellent organisational and administrative skills are essential, along with a positive, collaborative approach to your work.
