Lecturer (Health, Social Care and Education)

35 hours per week, Monday - Friday

UHI Orkney is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above posts.

This will require expertise in a number of areas to lecture on varied FE and HE curriculum with the Health and Social Care areas of the department. Applicants must be educated to at least degree level (SCQF level 9) or equivalent in a relevant subject area.

In addition, registration with GTC Scotland forms part of the agreed national terms and conditions of employment for all college lecturers.

A recognised teaching qualification that meets mandatory registration in Further Education is preferred. However, we also welcome applicants without a recognised teaching qualification, as it will be a mandatory requirement to apply for Provisional (Conditional) Registration with GTCS Scotland if appointed.

Applicants must have recent experience of teaching/supporting others within the area of core skills. Up to date knowledge of best educational & vocational practice is also required.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
