Training structure

4+1 Model: Four days in school developing practical teaching skills, with one day per week (Wednesdays) for online professional development.

September–December: Observe expert teaching, team-teach with mentors, develop basic classroom management.

January–March: Take increasing responsibility for planning and teaching, focus on assessment strategies.

April–July: Lead classes independently, develop advanced teaching techniques, complete QTS qualification.

What you'll need

• Geography, Geology or related degree (2:1 or higher preferred)
• OR strong A-levels in Geography, Environmental Science or Geology
• Passion for geographical education and current environmental issues
• Communication skills that will engage young people
• Commitment to professional development
• Driving licence beneficial but not essential – good public transport links available
