Summary


Post: 8A Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling/Health)

(Band 7 preceptorship available for less experienced candidates)

Hours: 0.4WTE (Permanent)

This is an excellent opportunity to support specialist HIV services at the Dept of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine based at North Manchester General Hospital (MFT) to strengthen their commitment to offering high quality holistic care to service users living with or affected by HIV across the north sector of Greater Manchester. You will work as an integrated member of the HIV MDT providing an expert psychological care model (including neuropsychological assessments).

For 8A appointment:You will have gainedpost qualification experience in physical health settings (ideally you will have experience working with in a HIV setting and be familiar with the complex issues arising) as well as a familiarity and commitment to working with a medical multidisciplinary team as well as inpatient/outpatient and community settings. Band 7 appointment considered for less experienced candidates.

You will work as an independent Practitioner Psychologist with your own clinical case load; as well contribute to staff consultation, research and multidisciplinary work.

The post holder will be supported and supervised by a senior Clinical Psychologist working in related Physical Health services. You will have appropriate access to in-house and specialist CPD. Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust are the host trust and the postholder will be employed under a service level agreement that exists with Manchester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
