An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician (Soft Material Research) to join the School of Chemistry on a permanent basis.
In this role, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting cutting-edge research within the College of Science and Engineering (CoSE). Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert technical support to research and students and initially be operating in the School of Chemistry, supporting the soft materials laboratories, ensuring researchers have seamless access to the specialised equipment and resources essential for their success.
Aligned with the College Technical Services strategy, the postholder will undertake a range of technical duties that contribute to the smooth operation of research facilities. Beyond your technical expertise, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, service-driven team, working closely with researchers, academics, and fellow technical staff to foster research excellence.
Additionally, you will champion health and safety best practices, maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient laboratory environment. Your contributions will directly enhance the research capabilities of the College, driving innovation and discovery.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and is offered on an open ended basis.
