Days of working are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.

Job Details

To manage and monitor all aspects of the Council’s PPP project throughout the operational services phase of the Project, which expires in 2035, to ensure full and consistent compliance with the terms of the Project Agreement. The PPP Project’s facilities broadly comprise 6 secondary schools, a Community Centre and a Swimming Pool complex.

East Lothian’s population is planned to grow significantly over the next 10 years and additional education capacity and new facilities will be required at primary / nursery and secondary level. You will ensure the effective management of the schools estate by liaising closely across Council departments, particularly Education, Planning and Finance to ensure that the Council’s primary and secondary schools are sufficient and suitable to meet current and future requirements.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, e.g. property, finance or project management and able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant working experience in PPP contract and schools’ estate management.

Membership of an appropriate professional body and/or related post graduate qualification.

Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
