Relief Driver / Roadworker 2, Shapinsay

Hours are offered as and when required throughout the winter maintenance season

£14.85 / £15.26 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate

We are looking for Road Worker 2 Relief on Shapinsay , to assist the Team Leader Operations in the delivery of a safe, compliant, effective winter maintenance service which is undertaken by the Roads and Grounds Operations Team.

You will be working on a week on week off rota to assist with the delivery of gritting and, where required, reactive repairs associated with flooding and storm damage.

During this period you will be paid an additional stand by allowance.

To be appointed at Grade C you would be required to hold a current full Class B driving licence and requirement to achieve Class C Driving license within two years.

To be appointed at Grade D you would be required to hold a current full Class C LGV driving licence, and a Driver CPC is essential.

Interested parties for this position must be resident on the island of Shapinsay.
