Summary

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly? Do you take pride in your work and enjoy creating a safe, welcoming environment for others? If so, we’d love to welcome you to our team.

We’re an award-winning independent, family-owned 5-star hotel dedicating ambition, experience, and passion into delivering an individual service for our guests. Our team is at the heart of everything we achieve – we’re intent on balancing our people, profits, and planet, creating a great place for our teams to work and we’re delighted to have had this recognised nationally again this year as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the Hospitality Industry.

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team on a flexible, part-time basis, to work 21 hours per week over 3 days. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our hotel is always presented at its best – from guest bedrooms and public areas to back-of-house spaces.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the hotel, including bedrooms, meeting rooms, spa, restaurant, and staff areas.
  • Responding to guest and team member requests with professionalism and urgency, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum satisfaction.
  • Communicating with other departments to coordinate maintenance works and avoid impacting the guest experience.
  • Taking pride in the hotel’s appearance and ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Supporting the wider team with any reasonable requests and contributing to a positive, can-do culture.

In addition to your core responsibilities, there is also scope for additional hours working as a Luggage Porter and Housekeeping Porter – ideal for someone looking for variety and extra earning potential.

Who you are:

  • A practical, hands-on individual with good general knowledge of maintenance, including plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • A great communicator with clear spoken English and a smart, professional appearance.
  • Able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible, reliable, and always willing to help – whether it’s a guest, a colleague, or a last-minute request.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or similar environment is a plus, but not essential.

What’s in it for you? Exceptional people deserve to be recognised and rewarded, so you can expect an extensive benefits package including:

  • Competitive salary and service charge
  • Work/life balance
  • Health, dental, and retirement benefits
  • Wellbeing financial support
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Employee discounts and dining & stay privileges
  • A supportive and inclusive work culture
