Main Duties
Improved Profitability:
Ensure budgets and sales objectives are met by supporting direct selling staff.
Seek greater margins from present or alternative finance sources or insurers.
Assess potential sales of finance, warranties and insurance and agree targets.
Include revenue and associated costs in the budget and three-year plan, including demonstrator and wholesale stocking interest rates and volume bonuses.
Provide alternative sources of finance if the manufacturer’s finance house is unable to fulfil the need.
Increased Business:
Ensure Sales Executives are aware of all finance facilities that may help close a sale.
Cost Control:
Ensure function costs do not exceed budget.
Ensure the dealership receives the budgeted percentage profit on each transaction.
Develop procedures for referral control and proposal completion. Install reporting systems for weekly/monthly target and profit tracking, including commission calculations.
Administration:
Ensure clerical operations are completed accurately.
Ensure timely preparation/return of all documentation and quotes.
Maintain a clearly traceable flow of documentation.
Avoid penalties/delays due to late or incorrect documentation.
Complete all internal weekly/monthly reports on time.
Maximise credit insurance sales to finance customers.
Maintain accurate records of finance, insurance, and warranty sales.
Regularly review performance with finance company and dealer management.
Develop and use prospecting systems and presentations.
Propose accurate finance details and comply with the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
Communications:
Maintain daily contact with Sales Manager.
Immediately communicate market changes.
Ensure clear documentation flow and avoid late returns.
Attend sales meetings and manage the referral process.
Identify training needs and ensure new developments are implemented and staff are trained.
Customer Satisfaction:
Resolve all customer queries and complaints.
Ensure customers fully understand their obligations.
Engage with clarity and courtesy.
Explain warranties and promote warranty extensions at point of sale.
Marketing:
Contribute input to the dealership marketing plan regarding finance and insurance.
Support special events and marketing exercises.
Participate in sales campaigns to maximise penetration.
Training:
Maintain knowledge of all products, prices, and competitors.
Assist in training and motivating the team to improve referral conversions.
Attend internal and external training courses.
FCA:
Complete required FCA training and assessment within 30 days of employment and ongoing assessments as per policy.
Support General Sales Manager in overseeing FCA training and compliance across the team, including initial and regular training, updates, and assessments for those involved in insurance product sales.
