We are looking to recruit Apprentice Carpenters to join L&Q in our maintenance team and to gain experience in the carpentry trade. You will be carrying out carpentry and joinery repairs and maintenance to L&Q’s housing stock throughout our London South Region.
As an apprentice within the South region, you would be assigned to a patch within one of our neighbourhood teams.
*L&Q’s South region services will be within the following areas,
· Thames – Greenwich, Bexley and North Kent
· South – Lambeth & Southwark and surrounding areas,
· South-East – Lewisham & Bromley and surrounding areas,
· South-West – Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton, Kingston, Sutton & Croydon.
We want our apprentices to have a great experience whilst on the job and will always aim to place successful candidates in an area conveniently located for them to travel to. We will discuss this at interview stage.
As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will receive training to enable you to support the team in providing a first-class service to our customers and will be expected to assist in carrying out carpentry repairs and installations.
The successful candidates will be working under instruction and supervision but also taking responsibility individually when appropriate, for their own work (and within their assessed abilities and skill set). This will include carrying out day to day repairs, working with wood-based materials and associated products to learn to create and install building components assisting with installations and repairs.
These apprenticeship roles offer a 2.5-year fixed term contract during which time you will undertake a Level 2, Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship learning will support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.
