Summary
Job description
For over thirty years Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries have been working closely with parents, staff and Ofsted to deliver childcare of the highest quality, providing children with unlimited opportunities to learn, develop and grow within a safe, secure and caring environment.
We are now looking for a caring, creative chef to join our team and take the lead on preparing daily meals for our little ones.
Responsibilities
• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children, ensure all meals meet dietary and allergy requirements
• Keep kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations, maintain high hygiene and food safety standards in the kitchen
• Order and manage food supplies within budget
• Collaborate with staff to plan menus and meal schedules
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and undertake a shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the nursery
Requirements
• Experience working as a chef or cook, ideally in a nursery, school, or care setting
• Food hygiene and safety certification (Level 2 or higher preferred)
• Knowledge of child nutrition and allergy management
• Passion for cooking healthy meals and working around children
• Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
