Summary


Physiotherapist Band 5 Fixed Term Role For 12 Months. 

An excellent opportunity for either a newly qualified Physiotherapist or those with post qualification experience looking to make a positive step in their career, to join our Physiotherapy service and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT). We have a vacancy at our Wokingham base. Within this post you will contribute to the provision of a high-quality Physiotherapy service, responsive to need, for adults with a wide range of conditions across West of Berkshire.

You will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and caseload management for patients, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, working without direct supervision as required.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months.

 Work base:Windsor/Ascott Ward, Wokingham Hospital, 41 Barkham Road, Wokingham, Berks, RG41 2RE

Working pattern + Service operating hours:The hours are 8.30am – 4.30pm.
• Clinically you will be working with rehabilitation, medical, palliative, and neurological patients.

• Provide a high standard of physiotherapy for adults living withinWestof Berkshire

• Accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care, ensuring a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management

• Responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organise this effectively and efficientlywith regard toclinical and management priorities and use of time

• Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies; use clinical reasoning and analytical skills and manual assessment techniques to providean accuratediagnosis of their condition

• Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy management and treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills, treatment skills e.g. manual physiotherapy techniques, patient education, exercise classes and other alternative options

• Evaluate patient progress, continually re-assess and alter treatment programmesin order toprogress treatments effectively

• For those who wish to develop their management skills there is the opportunity to supervise junior staff and students.

• You will help to develop this exciting service to meet the changing needs of our population.

The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
• Degree in Physiotherapy along with HCPC registration (or soon to attain)
• Under- graduate experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and MDT
• A passion for working with older adults in a rehabilitation ward setting
