We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Business Studies to join a thriving secondary school in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to educate and inspire future entrepreneurs and business leaders in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role:We are looking for a passionate and innovative Business Studies Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to students at KS4 and KS5. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The ideal teacher will have strong curriculum knowledge, be confident in delivering GCSE and A-Level content, and committed to promoting student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:-
Plan, prepare and deliver Business Studies lessons aligned with the national curriculum and exam board specifications.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students reach their academic goals.

Create an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and enterprise skills.

Collaborate with the department to contribute to curriculum development and cross-curricular business initiatives.

Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
Minimum Requirements:To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Experience: At least 1–2 years teaching Business Studies at secondary level, ideally up to A-Level.

Qualifications: A relevant degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject, plus UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Training: Experience in managing classroom behaviour and delivering differentiated instruction. Knowledge of safeguarding practices is essential.

Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and subject knowledge, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
DBS Check:All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to starting if not already registered with the update service. The cost of a DBS may be passed to the applicant.
