Are you a skilled and passionate childcare professional, with broad experience of the sector and a sound understanding of the childcare market, including the delivery of grant schemes?

Would you like to play a crucial role in ensuring the childcare sector is supported in accessing grant opportunities available to enhance the quality and sufficiency of childcare provision across the county borough?

This could be the role for you!

We wish to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and pro-active professional, with successful experience of supporting the childcare sector.

As the Childcare Access and Sufficiency Officer, you will play a key role in all aspects of sufficiency planning, grant support and childcare service delivery across the county borough, supporting local needs by helping providers to develop new provision, and to extend and sustain existing provision.

An informal discussion with the Childcare Strategy and Sufficiency Manager, Bethan Davies, is warmly encouraged and easily arranged. Please contact bethan.davies@bridgend.gov.uk to ask any questions you have or to organise an appointment for an informal conversation.

Applicants should have a valid driving licence and the use of a car as a requirement of appointment.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.

The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
