Summary

Job Title: Team Leader

Reports To: Immediate Supervisor

Location: LE19

Sallary: £27,000 -£28,500

Job Outline: As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning and organizing warehouse activities efficiently and safely. You will motivate and inspire your team by leading by example, ensuring a high level of customer service at all times.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Warehouse Management:

• Manage the daily work plan and adhere to stock management systems
• Ensure stock management, investigating missing and stolen items promptly
• Organize daily picking requirements and supervise the picking and checking process for accuracy
• Assist in employee training, development, and engagement
• Plan and organize warehouse activities, delegating tasks for maximum efficiency
• Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed

People Management:

• Efficiently induct new staff to help them integrate into the team
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels to enhance teamwork and motivation
• Monitor staff performance against objectives and address shortfalls
• Ensure each team member has the skills and competence to meet job requirements
• Identify training needs and motivate staff to achieve their long-term goals
• Conduct regular team briefings

Customer Service:

• Resolve issues related to orders and customer deliveries
• Ensure staff provide a high level of service to internal and external customers

Health and Safety:

• Ensure team compliance with legislation and company policies
• Address issues that may impact health and safety immediately
• Investigate accidents and incidents, generating reports as necessary
• Maintain a tidy warehouse space free from hazards
• Perform any other duties as required, appropriate to the level and skills of the post holder

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:

Essential:

• Experience leading a team in a warehousing and logistics environment
• Excellent people management and communication skills
• Commitment to creating a safe working environment
• Effective problem solver with the ability to implement continuous improvement systems
• Knowledge and operation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Good level of IT skills

Desirable:

• Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety, preferably to IOSH standards
