Role:
Under the direction of the Assistant Principal for Attendance, you will lead the implementation and management of the Academy’s strategic priorities relating to exceptional student attendance.
The post holder will ensure through effective day-to-day monitoring and strong line-management, the tracking, interventions and safeguarding provided by the Attendance Team are of the highest standard. This will result in good student attendance being valued by all across the Academy.
You will monitor and report on whole school attendance with an impact on improvement and incentive to ensure we are in line or above national average. You will oversee whole academy attendance be able to show progress throughout the academic year.
You will also line manage the Attendance Team to address attendance issues and seek help for students in need by liaising with colleagues, parents and external agencies. You will lead strategies designed to improve student attendance across the full breadth of the Academy.
You will contribute to the key objective of the Academy Development and Improvement Plan by: assisting the Assistant Principal with the management and organisation of the resources within the academy to achieve the highest standards of pupil achievement, through increasing attendance rates. You will rigorously apply the Academy’s attendance policy ensuring students are always aiming for 97% attendance.

The trust currently employs over 500 members of staff and is responsible for educating and developing almost 4,000 students between the ages of 3 to 16. The trust consists of three secondary schools - Leeds City Academy, Leeds East Academy and Leeds West Academy, and also welcomed its first primary school Alder Tree Primary Academy on 1st December 2020.
