Summary
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Explain to clients the principles of Stop Smoking Services so that they can make an informed choice to stop smoking. 2. Motivate and empower clients to make behaviour changes. 3. Deliver a client-led treatment plan in accordance with national and local guidelines, effectively and professionally supporting the client throughout their quit attempt. 4. Plan and organise workload, this will include the management of a caseload of clients. 5. Deliver one to one telephone and face to face support sessons as well as drop in or group stop smoking support sessions, ensuring ease of access for clients from local communities. 6. Provide a high quality, efficient service throughout a diverse range of community settings. 7. Manage conflict effectively either in a group setting or with individual clients. 8. Monitor outcomes of treatment programmes for their effectiveness. 9. The advisor may potentially be required to work with complex health needs in relation to behaviour change. 10. In partnership with the service coordinator and manager develop new service initiatives, based on periodic impact needs assessments. 11. Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders and partners. 12. Ensure a commitment to own personal development by keeping up to date with research and best practice. 13. Attend team meetings and training as required. 14. To actively participate in promotional events. 15. Carry out any other duties that relate to this post.
