Youth Housing Advisor – East Devon

Salary - £25,769.57

Based at Exeter YES (Youth Enquiry Centre)

37 hrs a week

From our experience, the main reason young people become homeless in East Devon is through relationships breaking down with the family they live with. We offer support when things start to go wrong, through information, advice, advocacy and family mediation, helping them to navigate their situation. We work in partnership with East Devon District Council, supporting young people, age 16-25 inclusive of those that are care-experienced, who may have experienced multiple disadvantages.

This role gives you the opportunity to engage and work alongside young people, supporting them to maintain or access accommodation. You will be building relationships of trust and understanding, whilst responding to their needs through a trauma-informed lens. Together, we help them to make decisions, have their voice heard, obtain the services they need and achieve their housing aspirations.

Knowledge on housing protocols, legislation & housing options would be an advantage, however, training will be given for this specialised post. It’s a great opportunity to build a career in this sector.
