Summary
Act as an autonomous clinician. Providing a PCN wide specialist service for women's health from the age of 14 to post-menopause care. Manage the womens health hub clinic list of patients by supporting the clinical lead with triage, booking and signposting of patients. To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to Code of Professional Conduct. Provide HRT assessment, advice and treatment. Carrying out examination, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of vulval skin conditions. Assess and manage symptoms and investigations relating to gynaecological, fertility, hormone-related conditions, referring as needed, including 2ww referrals for gynae, urology, breast. Provide a full contraceptive service. Recognising and managing contraindications in contraception. Managing patients on the high risk drug monitoring list - ensuring women of reproductive age are not at risk of pregnancy. Participate in national screening work such as cervical screening. Requesting of pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs etc. Ensure robust management of results and recall Ensure the effective delivery of related service specifications to include non- exhaustive: IUD, Pessary fitting and SDI. Carry out routine clinical assessments including blood pressure monitoring, mental health screening, and phlebotomy, as appropriate to patient needs. To ensure all patients diagnosed with, or at on-going risk of sexually transmitted infections are appropriately managed in line with local clinical guidelines To undertake sexual health promotion in the clinic to develop and maintain close links with local agencies including C Cards. Maintain accurate, confidential, computerised and patient records of interventions Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective, and remains within boundaries of competence Ensure QOF targets for the organisation are met. To work only in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and within the scope of professional practice. Communicate effectively with other team members, stakeholders, patients and carers. Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required. To participate in clinical audits. Ensure statutory and mandatory training is up to date.
