Summary
We are looking for a very enthusiastic, compassionateand proactive individual for the role ofband 7Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist, to join a very well-established multidisciplinary team.
Our service, based in CAMHS Phoenix on the Wokingham Community Hospital site, is a Tier 4, alternative to admission Day Hospital and Home treatment service, that provides evidence based psychiatric, nursing, and therapeutic interventions for young people between the age 12 – 18 years. Young peopleat CAMHS Phoenix may presentwith severe and complex mental health difficulties assessed as requiring Tier 4 level care, including where these disorders are co-morbid with neurodevelopmental diagnosessuch as:Serious risk of harm to self; suicidal thoughts and behaviour ,Emotional dysregulation and symptoms that would be best described as emergingunstable personalitydisorder,Eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, ARFID and disordered eating in the context of emotional dysregulation, trauma, andother mentaldisorder,Low mood, depressive disorder ,Early onset psychosis ,Severe OCD, complex PTSD andOther psychological disturbance that may adversely affect functioning but falls outside typical diagnostic criteria.
All young people who are accepted to the service will follow a structured programme, in line with relevant NICE guidelines (for example anorexia nervosa, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation).
It is a part time job - 22.5 hours per week
• Clinical Assessment:Conduct specialistassessments and develop a clear and detailed formulation of the service user’s presenting difficulties and/or the systemic issues present.
• Treatment Planning:In collaboration with service users, develop personalised treatment plans based on assessment findings and service user needs, in collaboration with service users, to support their recovery and improve quality of life.
• Therapeutic Interventions:Deliver evidence based therapeutic interventions using a range of psychological techniques and modalities.
• Collaboration:Collaborate with multidisciplinary team clinicians and multi-agency representatives to ensure the delivery of integrated and holistic client care.
• Supervision and Training:In line with experience and role development plans, provide supervision and mentorship to junior clinicians and trainees, contributing to their professional development and enhancing the treatment they offer.
• Research and Development:Regularly undertake applied research, adding to the evidence base for practice, development activities andparticipatein quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of clinical services.
• Contributing to Service Development:Actively engage in the improvement and development of mental health services, implementing new treatment approaches, providing insights andexpertiseto enhance the overall quality of care.

The “must haves” for this role:
• Post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996 or for those who completed their training overseas) which provides eligibility for Chartered Membership of British Psychological Society (BPS)
• Registered and accredited with Health Care Professional Council (HCPC)as a Practitioner Psychologist
