Senior Process Development Technologist

Our NPD team are searching for a Senior Process Development Technologist based in Middlesbrough!

Location: Middlesbrough

With operations across two manufacturing sites and one distribution location, Middlesbrough is the home of party food including
bhajis, samosas, onion rings, and spring rolls!

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 - 17:00, Friday, 8:30 - 16:00 (flexibility required to support trials and product launches)

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

Purpose:

To support in the effective delivery of New Product Development (NPD), Existing Product Development (EPD) and Continuous
Improvement across manufacturing sites in line with company and customer category plans.

Your Duties Will Include:

* Delivery of the scale up of products and process agenda within agreed timescales, responsible for all stages of the critical
path of projects
* Organise process trials including ingredient and packaging orders, working closely with production and planning teams
* Lead pre- and post-trial meetings included detailed paperwork for every trial.
* Lead the Process teams to move product from kitchen to factory, ensuring all aspects of product quality and food safety are met
* Validations including nutritional, shelf-life, pack weight, sensory and organoleptic
* Support the Process Manager in the innovation agenda at site taking key role in feasibility meetings and costing builds.
* Lead process team documentation to support product development to an auditable standard
* Lead the launch of product to agreed standards and review products post-launch
* Understand and drive proactive process development initiatives which push production boundaries
* Support the organising of customer visits, sample sending and benchmarking panels
* Promote health and safety culture by following all H&S requirements during kitchen and process development work
* Line management support to Junior Process Technologists and deputise for Process Development Manager when required.



Experience:

* HND/Degree in food based/manufacturing subject (desirable)

* 3-5 years’ food manufacturing experience within an FMCG environment
* HACCP / Food Safety Training/basic knowledge
* Driving licence essential
