English Teacher Secondary School in South West London.
Start Date: September 2025

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join a well-supported English department at a secondary school in Sutton, South West London. This role primarily involves teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. The position is open to both Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and experienced educators. Based on performance, there is potential for the role to be extended or made permanent.

Contract Details:
Location: Sutton, South West London

Position: English Teacher

Start Date: September 2025

Duration: Until the end of the 2025/2026 academic year (with potential to continue)

Contract Type: Temporary (with possibility of extension or permanent placement)

Working Hours: 8:00 am 4:00 pm, plus parents evenings

Pay Rate: (dependent on experience)

Experience, Training & Qualifications:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in the UK

Recent Safeguarding training (issued within the last 12 months)

Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

Have the Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one)

Provide two professional references covering the last two years, ideally with child-related experience
