An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon with subspecialty interests in Skin and general plastics to join our ever-growing Burns and Plastic Surgery department at Manchester Foundation Trust.
The burns and plastic surgery services at MFT provide secondary and tertiary level care to Greater Manchester’s population of over 2.5 million.
The successful applicant will be encouraged to engage in ongoing service transformation in the skin cancer service, particularly supporting the development of a Skin Cancer and Mohs Surgery Hub.
For further information or to discuss the role in greater detail, please contact Specialty Lead Consultant Mr James Bedford via email toJames.bedford@mft.nhs.ukorLynn.allard@mft.nhs.uk.
The weekly programme is planned around 10 sessions. These will include skin cancer outpatient clinics and elective surgery lists, general anaesthetic or WALANT hand trauma lists, and clinics and theatre lists at Rochdale and Oldham (with PA allocation for travel time). The remainder of the 10 sessions will be attributed to direct clinical care (out of hours work, ward rounds and patient related administration), and supporting professional activities (SPAs). The post will be part of multidisciplinary teams including the local and specialist skin MDTs.
