Summary
Opportunity Overview
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic academic to become a Teaching Fellow in Interior Design in the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.
The successful candidate will contribute teaching and learning to our undergraduate programme in Interior Design. You will support the Programme Leader to ensure an exceptional student experience across all levels of the programme, contributing to module delivery and year group leadership. The programme offers a broad grounding for professional Interior Design practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Design teaching materials and deliver them across a range of modules or within a subject area.
- Supervise student projects, including, where appropriate, field trips, placements, and postgraduate projects.
- Engage in scholarly activity linked to teaching and learning.
- Take a lead in own area of expertise, including leadership of modules.
About the School or Department
Our BA (Hons) Interior Design programme has extensive links with the architectural and interior design industry and is taught by tutors who have led well-established careers in the field. The programme also has a strong record of inviting key figures and specialist design professionals to deliver guest lectures and contribute to the teaching and learning experience. Visits to developments, buildings, practices and showrooms are embedded within the course to ensure practice-based learning, as are overseas exchanges.
Work placements and industry sponsored projects form part of the course allowing students to experience the cutting edge of design practice. Graduates have gone on to work in all areas of design in architectural and interior design practices including large retail organisations, construction departments, film and TV companies.
This is a permanent, full-time position, and the starting salary is £38,249 per annum.
