Sandwell MBC and South West Birmingham NHS Trust are working in partnership to provide short term reablement in a newly built integrated Social Care and Health Centre, which opened in December 2022. The centre is an 80 bedded reablement centre based on Harvest Road, Rowley Regis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a purpose-built service supporting individuals to regain their skills and confidence so that they can return home.

Salary: 18.5 hour post £12,395-£12,996

You will be required to undertake general handyperson/caretaker duties within the establishment to maintain the fabric and fittings, simple maintenance and repair work of the building.

Your role will include:

Undertaking minor repairs / decoration.
Undertaking general handyperson duties in community settings (if required)
Responsible for reporting breakages/major repairs.
Simple maintenance and operation of heating system, air conditioning and water systems.
Other general handyperson duties.
Driving duties, when appropriate.
Maintaining stores.
Ensuring security of the building.
You must show a willingness to take part in any training relevant to the role and the service area. You must also hold a driver’s licence.

Working Hours

Will include working alternate weekends and bank holidays on a rota pattern. The post available is for 18.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake and Enhanced DBS Check
