Summary

Finance Analyst Manager

Brightwork is proud to be partnering with a respected public sector organisation to recruit a Finance Analyst Manager—a key role supporting research-led projects and initiatives across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to work in a purpose-driven environment where your insights will support innovative research and help drive impactful decision-making.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with Senior Finance Business Partners, you’ll take a business partnering approach to:

  • Provide accurate financial and administrative advice to project leads


  • Monitor financial performance across research projects


  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external funder requirements


  • Support reporting to a range of stakeholders including funding bodies and auditors


    You’ll play a central role in ensuring financial integrity, value for money, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

    What We’re Looking For

    You’ll be a confident communicator, capable of translating complex financial data into accessible insights for non-finance colleagues.

    To succeed, you’ll also bring:

    • A recognised accountancy qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)


    • Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting, and planning within a complex or diverse organisation


    • Experience working with external auditors and funding bodies


    • Supervisory or team leadership experience


    • Experience in public sector, research, charity, or education settings (highly desirable); private sector experience is also welcomed
