Summary
Job title: Early years Practitioner (Nature Nursery)
Reporting to: Nursery Manager
Salary: £13 per hour 21+ (raising to £14 following a successful probationary period).
Hours: 16 Hours per week
Background
Methilhill Community Children’s Initiative (MCCI) is a community group and registered charity dedicated to providing clubs, activities and experiences to our local children, young people and their families.
The group’s ethos is of nurturing confident children and responsible citizen’s within our community. Our children, young people and their families contribute to planning and development of the group and are at the heart of all decisions made.
MCCI is managed by project manager and a voluntary board of community members. Staff deliver groups and club activities with the support and contribution of a volunteer team. Team working is an essential component of the group’s success, and all members of the team (paid staff, voluntary staff and community members) are valued equally.
Job Purpose
Based within our fully outdoor learning garden!
We have a fantastic opportunity for you in our outdoor Nature Nursery. Are you an experienced Early Years Practitioner looking for the next step in your career? Have a passion for the outdoors? We are looking for qualified, passionate staff member to join our team.
The Role

Pro-actively plan and evaluate activities with colleagues. Ensure all administration relating to children is up to date.
Drive your own self development and continuous improvement.
Ensure we provides the best possible care and education experience for children.
Main Duties
To deliver planned activities as required.
To promote children’s care, learning and development at all times.
To support children’s participation in activities and experiences
Observing children and support with planning to their individual educational and developmental need
To prepare and supervise snacks and mealtimes
Provide personal care to children
To deal with enquiries as required.
To work within the policies and procedures of MCCI
To work hours as required, and as mutually agreed with MCCI.
To work within the guidelines as required by the Care Inspectorate.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
To assist in monitoring and evaluation
To assist in the keeping of appropriate records.
To assist in developing the group’s annual improvement plan.
To assist in completing self-evaluation and annual monitoring reports for the care Inspectorate.

We are a fully outdoor setting and are looking for someone passionate about outdoor learning to join our team. Educational outdoor experience would be advantageous however there is an opportunity for relevant training for the right candidate.
Requirements
Qualification SVQ3 or HNC Childcare
A working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the ambition and child development from birth to 5 years
Experience of writing reports and children’s records
Eligible to work in the UK
Eligible to become a member of the PVG scheme
Eligible to register with SSSC
