We’re seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer with strong consultancy skills to help shape and lead the implementation of automation testing across a range of projects within DWP. You’ll work closely with multiple teams, supporting them from discovery and setup through to execution and continuous improvement. If you’re excited about building frameworks, sharing best practices, and empowering others with your technical expertise, this is the role for you.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will act as a technical expert and mentor within the Test Engineering community. Your role will focus on delivering and embedding test automation solutions across diverse teams, while championing quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the implementation and delivery of automation testing frameworks and scripts across multiple projects.
  • Supporting teams during the discovery phase to understand application architecture, technology stacks, and project goals.
  • Producing proof of concepts and identifying the most appropriate tools and approaches for automation.
  • Providing hands-on support and training to teams adopting automation, ensuring smooth onboarding and development of skills.
  • Promoting best practices in test automation and helping teams align to standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for testing-related issues and blockers, providing expert guidance and solutions.
  • Monitoring test suite performance, identifying inefficiencies, and reducing technical debt to enhance reliability and speed.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, tools, and resources with the wider engineering community.
  • Contributing to the growth of a forward-thinking Test Engineering practice that delivers real public value.
