Respond to medical emergencies and general alarms Administer medication as agreed within areas of competence and under the direction of a qualified nurse and act as second signatory as required Wound care Vital observations and diagnostics e.g. blood pressure, pulse, SATs, blood glucose monitoring ECG recording Venepuncture Assist with minor surgery Near patient testing e.g. INR monitoring Health promotion advice Secondary health screening Assisting with sexual health prevention, screening and treatment clinics Providing additional support for patients with specific needs, e.g. the disabled and the elderly Assist with the activities of daily living and development of care plans for prisoners with physical and mental health needs
