We are seeking someone who:
• Holds HLTA status or an equivalent relevant qualification
• Has a proven track record of positively impacting pupil outcomes.
• Has strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and experience in a school-based Nursery or similar setting
• Is confident leading learning with individuals, small groups and the whole class when required
• Values inclusion and enjoys working as part of a team to develop new and exciting ways of teaching.
• Is reflective, proactive and values professional development and can build excellent relationships with young children and their families.
• As an EYFS HLTA, you will:
• Work closely with the class teacher and phase leader to plan and deliver an engaging EYFS curriculum that ensures high standards of learning and attainment.
• Lead targeted interventions, track progress, and set clear goals to enhance pupil achievement.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all children to thrive and succeed.
• Supervise and lead pre-prepared lessons in the EYFS and across the school.
• Play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

Are you passionate about Early Years education and ready to make a difference in our children’s first experiences of school life? At Horsenden Primary School, we are excited to be expanding our Nursery provision from September 2025 and are seeking a caring, committed and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will spend each morning working closely with the Nursery teacher and wider EYFS team to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences supporting our expanding Nursery provision. In the afternoons you will provide class cover across EYFS and the wider school. You’ll need to be confident leading learning and managing whole classes in the teacher’s absence, following clear plans and using positive behaviour management strategies in line with our school approach.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and safer recruitment practices, the school will conduct an online search for all shortlisted candidates.
