The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small team within the Mayor of Bolton’s office.
The successful applicant will provide chauffeuring, attendant and support to the Mayor of Bolton’s office, which includes civic and ceremonial events. You will provide advice as required, arranging cover with the relief attendants, manage all aspects of transportation arrangements, including forward planning of attendees at events, maintenance of the car in accordance with the lease contract, and provision of a professional chauffeuring service. Maintaining the strict protocols of a civic officer, a civic uniform will be provided, and the applicant must be of smart appearance at all times.
Associated duties include diary keeping, relationship management, and office administration.
About You
The successful candidate must be diplomatic and non-political and be able to demonstrate the highest standards of professional behaviour. You must be reliable and well-organised, and you will have an understanding and appreciation of the heritage, prestige and importance of the role of Mayor of Bolton. You will be comfortable managing a busy schedule, attending events across the borough often at evenings and weekends. You will maintain and enhance the reputation of the Mayor’s Office by establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within the council and in the wider Bolton community.
You must hold a clean and current driving licence. You must also possess the ability to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends and public holidays and have a flexible approach to working hours, and the role will attract a salary enhancement of 7% as a result, rising to 30% for any hours working between 10pm and 7am.
