Summary

The successful applicant will join a team of committed clinical teachers and tutors to contribute to the design, development, delivery, and assessment of paediatric and child health undergraduate medical education in the trust. The appointee will: TEACHING: Deliver daily clinical teaching to medical students and physician associate students. Deliver teaching to medical students and physician associate students during their paediatric academic program. Contribute to the development of clinical skills teaching, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill children and young people. Contribute to the organisation of undergraduate examinations with the UGME team. Develop, undertake, and evaluate a project in an area of paediatric medical education. Develop their simulation teaching skills, in both low and high fidelity. Attend UGME educational and academic meetings. Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both internally and with the Universities. CLINICAL: This is a non-clinical role. PROFESSIONAL: Work with local managers and professional colleagues in the employing Trust to contribute to the efficient running of the undergraduate medical education service. Be subject to the provisions of the Terms and Conditions of Service, be required to observe the Trusts agreed policies and procedures, drawn up in consultation with the profession on clinical matters and to follow the local and national employment and personnel policies and procedures. Participate in the Continuous Professional Development and the Trusts appraisal scheme. Be aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff and attend all relevant health and safety training. Ensure that all Trust-wide standards are maintained to improve the quality of total care to all who encounter services provided by Birmingham Womens and Childrens NHS Trust.
