McLaren High School is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, on the southern edge of Callander—an easy commute from the Central Belt, just 25 minutes from Stirling and 45 minutes from Glasgow.

At McLaren High School, we are committed to excellence in education and the holistic development of our young people. With a team of highly professional teaching and support staff, we set high expectations for our pupils, working in partnership with parents to challenge, support, and inspire them. Our school community is built on the core values of Inclusivity, Community, Kindness, and Growth, ensuring that every pupil is empowered to succeed, develop confidence, and become a responsible global citizen. These commitments were recognised when we were named Scottish Secondary School of the Year 2024 by the Sunday Times Parent Power List.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic teacher who will demonstrate strong classroom leadership, deliver the highest standards of learning and teaching, and contribute to robust departmental monitoring and tracking. You will be responsible for accurate and timely completion of SQA procedures and paperwork and play a key role in advancing Faculty Improvement Priorities aligned with the National Improvement Framework.

The ideal candidate will be confident, articulate, and creative, with the ability to motivate and inspire others while ensuring the faculty meets the diverse needs of McLaren High School’s young people. Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

Applicants must hold GTCS registration in a subject relevant to the delivery of the Music curriculum within the school.

This is a temporary part time position commencing 11th August 2025 for Academic session 2025/26. It’s expected that the working days will be Monday, Thursday and Friday to meet the needs of the timetable.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.

If you have the skills, passion, and commitment to be part of our outstanding school community, we would love to hear from you. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief, or race.
