Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and responsible individual to undertake the role of Council Tax Officer within our Revenues Team.

As part of a team, you will help with the effective and efficient day to day workings of the Council Tax department.

We are looking for an individual with at least 1 year of office experience who can provide a high-quality service to our residents. The role will require you to routinely deal with a large volume of enquiries across a number of areas. Your daily duties will include updating all aspects of customer Council Tax accounts including billing, collection and recovery, answering queries, providing information and handling complaints.

You need to be highly motivated and show initiative, you must also have the ability to work unsupervised in a pressured environment. You should also demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills and possess a high level of computer literacy.

Applicants must have attained at least 5 GCSE’s grades A- C (or equivalent) including Maths and English as well as being fully proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office.

You should have the ability to recognise and prioritise certain issues and to possess the right approach when handling customer enquiries and complaints. A good level of stress tolerance and resilience is key, as well as good listening, organisational and problem-solving skills. You will be a strong team player.

Ideally you will have experience in debt management or recovery and will be adept at dealing with financial affairs.

Be comfortable dealing with a range of debt recovery issues, including Enforcement Agents and vulnerable residents.
