Principal Accountabilities/Key Tasks


To line manage a team of administrative assistants and clerical assistants


Ensure that the Council’s ADR process is in place


Supervise the work of administration and clerical assistants including checking of output to ensure compliance with service standards, statutory requirements and service level agreements.


Identify and resolve problems, taking ownership and responsibility through a satisfactory conclusion


Design and develop processes and procedures and recommend changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the service provided.


Provide support to managers across the service in relation to internal and external enquiries and complaints


Analyse and produce management information on the work undertaken by the administrative and clerical support service


Undertake all HR related tasks – including absence management returns, maintaining personnel files, co-ordination of the induction process including e-mail accounts, ID badges, building induction, preparation of duty rotas


Support compliance with health and safety by managing administration for Cardinus assessments and undertaking role of fire warden


Prepare and maintain a variety of financial and management information including databases, spreadsheets and diaries


Provide administrative and clerical support for service inspections
