Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and competent MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards set out by the DVSA. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Duties
Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, providing accurate reports on findings.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and adjustments as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding test results and any required repairs.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety.
Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices related to vehicle testing.
Requirements
Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Capability to perform servicing and repairs to all makes and model of vehicle using diagnostic tools to identify faults.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
A valid MOT Tester licence is essential for this position.
