About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, strategic, and driven social media professional to make a real impact at a respected university. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on content creation, strategic planning, and leadership, all within a collaborative and forward-thinking brand marketing team.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Creating and manging compelling, audience focused content across the social media platforms
Developing and implementing the University’s social media strategy and content calendar
Take the lead in shaping the institutions social media presence, creating engaging, high-quality content, driving channel growth, and manging a team of Student Content Creators.
You will have the freedom to develop and deliver campaigns that support key objectives such as student recruitment and brand visibility, while also influencing the University’s broader digital strategy. About You
As Social Media Officer, you will have:
Proven ability to produce high quality digital content, including short-form video, on camera presentations, photography and storytelling
Experience managing social media channels for a large or complex organisation, ideally in the public or higher education sector
Demonstrated success in planning, executing, and evaluating organic social media campaigns
Practical experience with paid social advertising platforms such as Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Ads, or TikTok Ads.
Experience leading or mentoring creative teams, such as Content Creators, with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
Involvement in social media-based crisis communication and reputational risk management.
Experience working with brand guidelines and ensuring consistency across departments.
Strong content creation, editing, and copywriting abilities.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro, and After Effects.
Ability to deliver training and communicate social media best practices to colleagues across the organisation.
Confident and articulate communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Resilient and composed when managing time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.
Collaborative, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Audience-focused, with a clear understanding of how to engage prospective students, current students, and alumni.
Culturally aware and inclusive, with a commitment to representing a diverse university community.
