MINISTER OF RELIGION

POST: ASSISTANT PASTOR (PRAYER AND INTERCESSION)

A growing multi-national Pentecostal Church in Crewe, England is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual with a strong prayer life to join our church community as an Assistant Pastor (Minister of Religion) for Prayer and Intercession. The candidate must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God. The successful candidate must understand the Afro-Caribbean culture (should be able to speak at least one local language), and be able to minister to the need peculiar to that ethnic group. We are looking for someone with: a strong biblical understanding and prayer life, pastoral experience, along with the ability to motivate, encourage, and train others in prayer. The candidate would primarily be responsible for leading and coordinating the church's prayer ministry, providing pastoral care, leading the congregation in prayers and sermons and working closely with the pastoral team and congregants to ensure that prayer remains a foundational element of church life

Details of duties:
• Lead and oversee the Prayer and Intercession department
• Deliver sermons and teach Bible studies as required
• Perform pastoral care duties and conducts some services in accordance with our Christian Statement of Belief
• Organise prayer meetings, lead prayer services and meetings, and develop prayer resources
• Model a strong prayer life, encouraging others to grow in their spiritual walk, and supporting the development of spiritual maturity within the church
• Dedicate time to intercessory prayer for the church's growth, outreach, and spiritual well-being
• Develop and implement prayer strategies: create prayer guides, develop prayer chains/cycles
• Provide spiritual guidance and mentorship to individuals and groups
• Train and equip church members to be effective prayer partners and intercessors
• Collaborate effectively with the Senior Pastors, departmental heads, and church leaders to achieve the church's mission.

Skills, experience and qualification required of this position:

Skills
• Must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lead or participate in church services
• An active, Pentecostal Christian
• A strong prayer life and spiritual maturity
• Organisational, teamwork and collaboration abilities.

Experience
• Demonstrated experience in leading and coordinating prayer ministries
• Indepth knowledge of biblical principles of prayer
• Experience in pastoral care
• Ability to preach and teach biblical truths
• Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and work effectively in a team setting
• Commitment to personal spiritual growth
• Experience of bible teaching and leading congregational service in an ethnically diverse congregation is desirable.

Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6
- Minimum of five years’ experience in managing and leading prayer ministry.

Additional Notes:
• This role requires working on Sundays and evenings.
• Willingness to be on-call for emergency prayer support.
• This role has an occupational requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010, for the holder of this post to be a practising Christian, in sympathy with the mission and vision of our Church.
• The successful candidate, if not already so, is expected to make our Church their home church and to become a committed and active member to be able to fulfil their duties.
