Higher Level Teaching Assistant Life Skills (Outdoor Learning) required with effect from September 2025.
Contract type: Full time 32.5 hours per week, term time only

At Gatley Primary School, we are looking for a Life Skills HLTA to lead on the delivery of this curriculum offer across our whole school. This is an exciting new post for someone who has the skills and talents to enrich our Life Skills offer including the use of outdoor learning as part of this curriculum.
As a large 3 form entry primary school, we are always seeking ways to further enrich our ambitious curriculum. We recognise the importance of life skills and have dedicated a role to the implementation of this curriculum across our school. Our curriculum ambition will see our children achieve skills and knowledge in many different aspects of the outdoor learning, including: nature, agility, endurance and adventure (https://gatleyprimary.com/our-curriculum/Life-skills). Children will demonstrate their achievements and progress through a personal development passport through this hands on, experiential curriculum.
We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for outdoor learning and a full appreciation for the role this has within child development. We are looking for a skilled HLTA who can bring their enthusiasm for this curriculum to confidently deliver this curriculum across our whole school, from Nursery to Year 6. The successful candidate will be aligned to our curriculum vision and ethos and will be keen to develop themselves and others through this unique role in a collaborative and empowered way. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a real commitment to safeguarding and safe working practices which is fundamental to the Trust’s ethos and values.
