Summary

Outdoor Education Assistant Manager - £27,467.85
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Outdoor Education Manager to join our passionate team at Explore Outdoor. In this pivotal role, you will support the planning, delivery, and continuous development of a diverse range of outdoor learning experiences for young people, families, and corporate groups.
Working closely with the Outdoor Education Manager, you will help shape a high-quality, financially sustainable programme that inspires learning and personal growth through nature-based activities. You will also play a key role in mentoring and supporting our team of Forest School Leaders and Outdoor Instructors, ensuring consistent delivery standards and a collaborative team culture.
37 hours per week
Rota
Monday- Friday: Some flexibility with hours. Occasional evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and deliver engaging outdoor education programmes tailored to a variety of audiences.
• Providing logistical support for our broad programme of activities.
• Support the strategic development of Explore Outdoor by identifying new business and funding opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, community groups, and other educational organisations.
• Assist in managing day-to-day operations, including scheduling, resource planning, and team coordination.
• Provide leadership and guidance to instructional staff, fostering professional development and best practices.
• Participate in the delivery of outdoor sessions as needed, adapting to the evolving needs of the programme.

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in outdoor education, environmental learning, or youth engagement.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
• A proactive approach to programme development and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to inclusive, experiential learning.

Requirements:
• Confident Communicator to service users, staff and stakeholders
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Confident driver with full UK driving licence
• Ability to plan own workload and meet deadlines
• Experience designing and implementing similar programmes would be advantageous.
Qualifications:
Level 3 Forest School Leader- Advantageous
First Aid- Advantageous
Safeguarding - Advantageous
Educational Background- Advantageous
Outdoor Education Nationally Recognised qualifications - Advantageous

We will provide additional training for all staff to be able to deliver a broad range of outdoor activities beyond that of the Forest School curriculum with opportunities to train in specialisms such as archery, mountain biking and axe throwing.
